Rhys Lewis

An experienced server and client-side developer and architect who has built systems in a wide variety of technologies. He started on IBM mainframe systems, in the days before relational databases existed. Most recently he's been using HTML 5, JavaScript and Node.js, within Apigee's cloud. The intervening period involved a lot of C++ and Java.

After a lengthy period as a developer and researcher at IBM, he started trying to deliver the Web to mobile devices. This was in 2000, when neither the market nor the devices were ready for it. He's been involved with the Web on mobile devices ever since, including working with standards organisations, such as W3C, OMA and OMTP.

Currently, Rhys helps Apigee's customers understand how its products support their strategies for digital transformation, using APIs.
